Exploring Materials: Recording & Live Processing

What? In this workshop, we will experiment with various materials, explore recording techniques, and use them as sound sources for real-time manipulation. Through hands-on activities, we’ll share experiences, exchange knowledge, and explore ideas together.
Who? Sophia Sagaradze is a sound artist and composer from Georgia, based in Denmark. She works with audiovisual installations, multichannel audio, and experimental performances. Sophia teaches at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg and is the founder and Artistic Director of Aarhus Lydforening.
Requirements:
Nuts And Bolts membership (nutsandbolts.space/membership)
You’re a professional musician, or have the ambition to become one.
Bring With you:
A pair of headphones
Ideally, a laptop or recorder
materials you find interesting for sonic exploration (e.g., fabrics, objects, tools).
if you have: different types of microphones + cables, recorders, and a sound card (but we can share as well).
Language: English
We particularly encourage women, non-binary, trans, bipoc, queer, neurodiverse, and disabled persons to apply.
This workshop is accessible for maximum 1 wheelchair user. Assistant dogs are welcome. In both these cases please contact us in advance, so we can talk through the details.
