What? Whether your goal is to create a multichannel sound installation for a gallery, design 3D soundscapes for a dance performance, or compose music for ambisonics, having the right tools and frameworks is essential to bring your idea to life.

In this workshop, you will learn how to approach such productions from scratch and adapt your creative ideas within this versatile framework.

Workshop structure:

  • Introduction to various tools and approaches, with a focus on Ableton Live and XP4L.

  • Exploring XP4L.

  • Presentation of examples from my previous works to illustrate detailed processes.

  • Hands-on session: Start working on one of your compositions and present it for a feedback round (optional).

Listening session featuring compositions from other artists for additional inspiration.

Who? Rojin Sharafi is a Tehran-born, Vienna-based sound artist, performer, and composer, whose distinctive musical language intertwines acoustic elements, replicating electronic textures and vice versa, using a mix of analog, acoustic, and augmented instruments, alongside custom-designed digital tools. Following her successful debut album "Urns Waiting to be Fed,", she released "Zangaar" in 2020 and "Kariz" in 2021. In 2023, Sharafi, together with her band members from HUUUM, published their debut album—an exploration of folk futurism.
