Max/MSP: Basic Building Blocks 1 + 2

with Jessica Sligter

Tuesday 17th of December + Wednesday 18th of December

19 - 21 Uhr

Location: Online!

What? In two sessions, we will explore the basic infrastructure of the graphic music programming software Max/MSP, get used to navigating there, and get acquainted with some of the most commonly used objects and functions in the program. We will explore among others: how to make sound in Max/MSP, how to connect it to in- and outputs, and by playing with the sound, we’ll familiarize ourselves with various objects and their functioning.

Requirements for participation:

  • You’re a Berlin-based music professional in the early stages of establishing your practice

  • (we can make space for a few non-Berlin based folks in these online sessions)

  • Some familiarity with basic sound principles is an advantage

Bring with you:

  • Laptop

  • Max/MSP if you have it

  • Participants who arrive early on the first session can receive a free temporary license of Max/MSP donated by Cycling ’74

Entry Fee: Voluntary donation. Suggested donation for this workshop: € 10

We especially encourage women, non-binary, trans, bipoc, disabled, neurodiverse, and queer persons to apply.
